The message the Lord Jesus continually brought forth was that of the Kingdom of God. In Mark 1:14,15, He began His ministry with this message, “14) Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15) And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” The Lord Jesus preached the Good News of the return of the Kingdom of God to man-kind. In verse 15, He gave us the keys to entering into the Kingdom. He said first; repent by turning from your sinful ways to God’s righteous ways. Second, He said the way to do this was by believing and embracing the Gospel.
Repentance and believing the Gospel are still the two keys that bring us into the Kingdom of God. The Apostle Paul taught these two principles throughout his ministry. In Acts 20:20,21, he said, “20) And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house, 21) Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” These things are profitable to us today just as they were then.
In Matthew 24:14, the Lord Jesus said the prominent message of the last days would be the Gospel of the Kingdom. He said, “14) And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
In Colossians 1:12-14, the Apostle Paul wrote, “12) Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13) Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14) In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:” According to these verses when we are born again, we are translated into the Kingdom of God. This happens now here on earth. We are taken out of satan’s kingdom of darkness and its way of living and we are placed into God’s Kingdom under the authority of the Lord Jesus.
Now that we are in God’s Kingdom, we must learn the new culture and ways of this new life. If we are to partake of our rich inheritance and take advantage of what is ours, we must learn how to function in this new Kingdom. II Corinthians 5:17 says, “17) Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” Everything is new now in our lives and we must discover how to live in this new realm.
Learning the culture of God’s Kingdom is a must if we are to live victorious. To learn these new ways the Lord has given us His Word, the Holy Spirit, and teachers.
Over the next three months, I am going to be teaching on Kingdom Culture. I believe it is vital that we not only have an intimate relationship with our Lord and King, but that we also know the ways of His Kingdom. Through the Word of God, the anointing of the Holy Spirit and solid teaching we are going to learn how to be productive citizens in the Kingdom of God. I encourage you to come and join with me and let these teachings revolutionize and change your life.
