Importance of A Home Church

It is important for every believer to have a home church and to be involved in that church.  Hebrews 10:24, 25 (AMP) says, “And let us consider and give attentive, continuous care to watching over one another, studying how we may stir up (stimulate and incite) to love and helpful deeds and noble activities, Not forsaking or neglecting to assemble together [as believers], as is the habit of some people, but admonishing (warning, urging, and encouraging) one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching.  As believers, we are told to come together for two reasons.  One, we all go through various tests and trials and need encouragement from other believers.  Two, we need to be ready to admonish and encourage others to help them to stay strong in their walk with the Lord.  The strength we receive from others is amazing.  In Acts 4:23 the apostles, after being threatened and let go, went straight to church and had all the believers to pray and agree with them for boldness and strength.

Ephesians 4:11-16 (NKJV) says, “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.”

It is God’s will that every believer grow in their spiritual walk.  In these verses, we see that going to church and sitting under an anointed minister is a must, if we are to grow up into Christ.  By submitting to a God-anointed, God-appointed ministry gift, you will become equipped, matured, perfected, protected, blended into the body and made ready for the work of the ministry.

How many times have you gone to church just to hear the pastor teach on exactly what you were needing?  Or, how many times has something been said that spoke directly to you?  Sometimes you may even think somebody told the minister what you were going through so he could say something to you.  Well somebody did, it was the Holy Ghost, and you should rejoice that God is watching over you and knows what you're going through and need.

It is time for a resurgence of church attendance by believers.  Church is a vital part of Christianity.  You will never mature to your full potential of faith if you fail to assemble together in church with fellow believers.  The question then arises, where do I then go to church?  My answer to you is for you to answer this one question.  If you could have only one pastor pray for or with you concerning a life or death matter, who would you call?  Whoever you would turn to in your time of need is your pastor and that is where you should be going to church.

1 Corinthians 12:18, “But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.”  God has a place for you.  It is a place for you to both grow spiritually and be a blessing to others.  Find that place, be faithful to assemble there and you will grow and be blessed in your life of faith.
