The Power of Prayer

Posted by Darrell Huffman on

In Ephesians 6:10-17 the Apostle Paul tells the Church to be strong in their walk with the Lord Jesus. He tells them to draw their strength from Jesus and to put on the whole armor of God so they can overcome the attacks of the devil. Then in verse 18 we see where this armor is to be used. We see that this is prayer armor. We are to use the power of prayer to stop the plans of the devil and release the plans of God. The Church can release the great power of God into this world when...

Remember Your Benefits

Ephesians 1:3 says, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.” Everything we could ever need has already been provided for us in and through the Lord Jesus Christ.  Being saved is more than just getting your sins forgiven and then hanging on till you get to Heaven.  Colossians 1:12-14 says, "...giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son...

Proverbs 11:11 says, “When right-living people bless the city, it flourishes; evil talk turns it into a ghost town in no time.”  As Believers we have been grafted into the blessing of the Lord.  According to Galatians 3:13, 14, Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law and brought us into the same blessing that God gave to Abraham. Everywhere Abraham went, the blessing would be released.  Now we are to live in that blessing and let it release blessings everywhere we live. As the righteous, we are to release the blessing into our cities.  To do this we...

In I Timothy 4:13-16 the Apostle Paul gave us these instructions,  “13 Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. 14 Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership. 15 Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all. 16 Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.”  Paul was telling Timothy to be a self-feeder. To grow...

Serve the Lord with Gladness

Posted by Darrell Huffman on

It has been said that your attitude will determine your altitude.  I believe there is truth in this statement.  Many times in sporting events the team with the winning attitude will win the game even if the other team is a little better.  Proverbs 17:22 says, "A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones."  Our attitude toward something will either make it a joyful event or a time of survival. In Psalm 100:1-2, we read, "Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!  Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing." I believe, in the hour we are living, it is...
