Cultivating the Soil

III John 2 says, "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."  To live in victory and to experience success in this life we must renew our minds to the Word of God.  You will never prosper beyond the level of revelation of God's Word that You personally know and do.  Our success is not measured by what others know about God's Word or even about what others do.  In Matthew 16 after Jesus asked the disciples what others were saying about Him, He point blank, in verse 15, asked, "But who do you say that I am?"

What we believe, say and do has a direct influence on what kind of life we will live.  This is why we must cultivate the soil of our heart with the Word of God.  The Bible teaches us that God's Word is seed.  When we plant that seed into our hearts and minds it transforms us into Christ's image and anoints us to do His works.

I want to encourage you to study the notes I am providing and get the message to listen to.  You can prosper, be successful and live in peace and well being even in difficult times as you act on God's Word.

I      To Prosper We Must Learn and Apply the Laws of Prosperity

A)    III John 2 - You will never prosper beyond the level of revelation you know and do.

1)   II Corinthians 8:9 - It is God's Will to prosper you and bless you.

B)    Genesis 1:11, 12, 27-29 - God gave man a ministry and the resources to get it done.

vv.11,12 - God formed the earth to continually produce an abundance of prosperity.

vv.27-29 - God created man, gave him a ministry and job to do.  Then gave him access to all the vast resources of earth to use to get it done.

C)    Genesis 8:22 - After the flood, God renews His covenant of blessing with man.

Seedtime and harvest, giving and receiving, are God's law of prosperity and provision for us.

1)   Galatians 6:6-9 - Paul shows us the law of giving and receiving works in the Kingdom of God. What we sow, we will reap.

2)   Philippians 4:15 - Believers entered into a partnership with Paul in giving and receiving.  Every time we give, we should expect results.

D)    II Corinthians 9:6-8 - Our two-fold purpose for giving.

1)   v.6 - We give that blessings may come to someone.  We enter into partnership with God to reach people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

2)   v.8 - We give to release God's grace, favor, and blessing of abundant provision into our lives.

 II    After We Sow Our Seed We Must Cultivate the Ground

A)    Mark 4:26-29, 14-20 - (26-29) Once you sow, you take your attention off the seed and onto the ground.

1)   vv. 14-20 - Jesus gives attention to types of ground.  Once you obey God, protect your seed by cultivating your ground and not letting anything keep you from receiving.

Cultivating (Webster) - To prepare land for growing crops.  To loosen soil and kill weeds.

1)   Hebrews 6:8 - faith and patience; Hebrews 4:14 - Hold fast your confession.

B)     Luke 13:6-8 - By cultivating your ground you can even receive fruit off of old seed that you neglected.  Don't cut it down, speak the Word to it!

How to Train the Human Spirit

I Peter 2:1-3 says, "1 Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.As believers it is absolutely vital that we grow and develop ourselves spiritually. John 4:24 says, "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."  God, who is a Spirit, always works with us and leads us by contacting our spirit.  So, it is to be our goal to grow and become more spiritually sensitive to God in our heart or spirit.

If we continue to stay carnal and immature in our Christian walk, we will miss out on much the Lord has for us.  Fortunately for us, God has provided Biblical principles we can learn that will help us to grow and train ourselves in spiritual things.

I want to give you four Biblical keys that you can use to help you to train your spirit to be more sensitive to God.  These are proven truths that will work if you will study them and put them to work in your life.  It's time to grow up spiritually, so get started today

How to Train the Human Spirit 

Text:  I Thessalonians 5:23 - spirit, soul, and body sanctified and preserved blameless

I)     God Guides Us By Our Spirit

A)    Proverbs 20:27 - Candle of the Lord is man’s spirit.  God enlightens us through our spirit.

B)    Romans 8:14-16 - As sons of God, we are to be led by the Spirit of God.

II)     How We Can Train Our Spirit to be Sensitive to God

A)    Give the Word First Place

1)    John 6:63—God’s Word is spirit food.

2)    Psalm 119:130—God’s Word gives light and understanding to us.

3)    Proverbs 4:20-22When we put the Word first over flesh, circumstances, or problems, the Word will produce life and health in us.

B)    Meditate in the Word

1)     Joshua 1:8—Meditation in the Word of God will bring success and cause us to prosper. 

A)  Meditate—(to mutter) Speak the Word to yourself.

2)     I Timothy 4:14-15Meditate upon who you are in Christ.  Meditate upon your calling and what God has told you to do.  It will cause you to profit and people will see the difference.

C)    Practice the Word - Be a doer of the Word

1)    James 1:21, 22-25—We must receive the Word, and practice the Word.

v. 25—Only by continuing with the Word, and doing it, will we reap the blessing.

2)    Hebrews 4:1-2—Mix faith with the Word.

D)    Instantly Obey Your Spirit

1)    Romans 9:1—“...my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost.”

2)   Romans 8:14-16—The Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirit.  Follow the witness of the Spirit and you won’t go wrong.

Be Led by the Spirit

In John 16:12,13, The Lord Jesus said, "12 I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come."  The Lord let us know the importance of the Holy Spirit in our lives.  We as believers do not have to go through the struggles of this life in our own power or strength.  When we need help, guidance and revelation, the Holy Spirit is here to help us.

Romans 8:14 says, "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God."  For us to be successful in our Christian walk we must learn how to be led by the Spirit of God.  In this week's lesson, I lay out some powerful truths that will help you to learn how to receive God's help as you live this great life of faith.

Be Led by the Spirit

Text:  I Thessalonians 5:23 - Spirit, Soul and Body 

1)    Spirit - The part of man that deals with the spiritual realm.  The part of man that knows God and is born-again.

2)    Soul - The part of man that deals with the mental realm.  Our mind, will and intellect.  The part that reasons and thinks.

3)    Body - The part of man that deals with the physical realm.  The house in which we live.

I) The Holy Ghost Guides Us In Our Spirit

A)    John 16:13-16 - The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth and He is the one who reveals to us the things of God and God's direction for our lives.

B)    Romans 8:14-16 - v. 14 - as many as are led by the Spirit of God.  The Holy Spirit is sent to be our guide.

v.16 - The Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirit.  (This is the number one way that God guides us.)

C)    Is Our Spirit a Safe Guide?  Yes, if we are born-again.

1)   I John 3:9 - we now have the seed of Christ in us.

2)   I John 5:10-12 - we now have eternal life dwelling on the inside of us.

II) God's #1 Way of Leading Us is by the Inward Witness

A)    I John 2:20 - ye have an unction from the Holy One and know all things.  (God will show you what to do in every situation if you will learn to follow the unction.)

B)    What is the unction?

1) The unction is a push, witness, an inward revelation that guides us as to what to do.

2) The unction can be a check, or red light telling us what not to do. 

C)    I John 3:19-21 - How to follow the unction of God in your spirit.

Bringing Forth Good Things

In Mark 11:22,23, The Lord Jesus said, "22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.  23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith." Notice the Lord begins by telling us to have faith in God. If we don't believe and trust God, then nothing else will work.  Everything we believe, say, and do should come out of our deep trust and conviction in God. Faith is simply taking a stand that God will do for us exactly what He said in His Word.

The Amplified Bible says verse 22 like this "...Have faith in God constantly."  Faith is to be our lifestyle and not just what we do when we have a need. Galatians 3:11 says, "...The just shall live by faith."  Every day of life should be a day of faith and putting our trust in the Lord.

In Mark 11:23, the Lord Jesus gives us two principles that faith works through. These principles of faith are believing in your heart and confessing with your mouth that which you believe in your heart. So, we see that faith is released by believing and saying what God says.  We must believe like God believes about the situation.  Then, because we believe like God does we say what God says about it.  Jesus said that when we believe right and confess right, the mountain or problem will be moved.  Once we move the mountain out of the way, we can then bring forth the breakthrough and good thing that God has for us.

Bringing Forth Good Things

I)     We Must Believe It and Speak It, to Have It

A)    I Corinthians 3:10-12 - Christ is our foundation but we have a vital role in how we build our Christian lives.

1)   Everything in the foundation flows up into the building.

2)   v. 12 - We build either good or bad in our lives.

B)   Matthew 12:33-37 - What we really believe and continually say creates the reality of the things we have in our lives.

v. 33 - We have a vital part in the kind of life we live.

v. 34 - Our words and confession have creative power.

v. 35 - Because of sin and Adam's fall, we can now bring forth both good and bad.

1)   Proverbs 18:21 - Death and life are in the power of the tongue.

v. 34, 35 - What we put into out heart will control our confession.  What controls our heart, controls our confession, and our confession controls us.

v. 37 - What you believe and say will put you over or put you under.

C)    Philemon 6 - Our faith becomes powerful when we acknowledge every good thing God says about us and begin to speak it out in faith.

1)    Faith never rises above your confession.

2)    Manifestation comes after you agree with God and begin to confess it is yours.

D)   Romans 10:8-10 - Law of faith, believe in your heart, confess it.

v. 10 - Possession of the blessing comes after the confession.

E)    Hebrews 10:35-38 - Stay in faith, don't draw back.  Stay confident and hold fast your confession.

1)    Proverbs 4:20-22 - If your faith begins to weaken go back to the Word.

v. 22 - Keep taking your medicine until all the symptoms are gone.

2)    Hebrews 4:14 - Hold fast to saying the same thing Jesus says.

More Than Conquerors

It is always God's Will that we be more than conquerors in this life.  To be more than a conqueror means that we accept all that Jesus did, and now put it to work in our daily life.  The Bible teaches that Jesus conquered sin, satan, and every enemy to God and man.  Jesus was then crowned King of Kings and made the universal supreme head of the Church.  After Jesus received all authority and power, He then delegated to His Church, every Believer, the right and privilege to exercise that authority and power on earth.  So we can now say Jesus is the conqueror of all things; and, because He has delegated His authority to us, we are now more than conquerors in Him.  We are more than conquerors because we don't have to conquer sin, satan, and the curse.  We now have the authority to enforce the victory of the Lord Jesus in our lives.

Romans 8:37 says, "Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us."  When we live our lives in the Lord Jesus, nothing is too big or impossible for us to overcome.  For us to walk as more than conquerors we must apply three things to our lives.  We must have desire, decision, determination.  I encourage you to study this outline, More Than Conquerors, and let these truths transform your life.  Remember, you are already more than a conqueror.  All you need to do is to put it in action.

More Than Conquerors

I)     The 3 D's to Being More than a Conqueror

A)    Romans 8:35-37 - All of these things come to defeat us and separate us from our fellowship with Christ.

v. 37 - It is God's Will that we overcome every attack and have victory over every battle.  To do this we must stay with Jesus and follow Him.

B)   John 5:1-9 - Three things we must do to be a conqueror.

vv. 1-5 - (Describes the conditions.)  These people came there with hope and vision of being healed.

v. 5 - (38 years) - When we have a dream the enemy will try to defeat it with environment and time.  If not careful, we let people, environment, and time affect our attitude and expectations.  We give in to our surroundings, compromise our vision and accept what we've got.

vv. 6, 7 - This man was no longer depending on his vision; he was looking for somebody else to make it happen for him.

1)    v. 6 - (will you be made whole) - #1. Desire - Do you still have that desire and passion to make your vision come true?

a)   Mark 11:24 -  What you desire is what you will pursue in faith and prayer.

b)  Proverbs 13:12 - Desire is your hope, hope feeds your faith, faith makes things happen.

Jesus first had to know if the man still had a desire to be healed.

2)   v. 8 - (Rise up, take thy bed and walk.)  #2. Decision

We have to decide that with or without anybody else we are going to believe God and make our vision happen.  You must get up, you must pray, you must decide to do it.

a)   Philippians 2:12-14 - You decide to make it happen by your faith and don't fuss about other people not helping you.  You take responsibility.

3)   v. 9 - #3. Determination - (Be determined that you are going to have it and nothing will stop you.)

a)   Hebrews 12:1-3 - Keep your eyes on Jesus and stay with it.  (Determination takes endurance.)

b)   II Timothy 1:6-7 - stir yourself, walk in faith.

Living By Faith

Galatians 3:9,11, says "So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham." "11 But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for 'the just shall live by faith.'"  In these two verses, Paul gives us two great truths we must learn.  First, if we are to be blessed and walk in the blessings that Abraham walked in, we must have believing faith.  What is believing faith?  Believing faith is when you go beyond just knowing God's Word to embracing and acting on God's Word.  To truly believe is to be a doer and not just a hearer of the Word.

Second, you must develop a lifestyle of faith.  Faith can't just be something you do when you have a need.  Faith must become your daily way of living.  Paul said,"The just shall live by faith."  From the time we get up until we go to bed at night, we should live in the realm of faith and trust in God.  When we make faith our lifestyle we will be ready for whatever challenges life will throw at us.

Living By Faith

I)     The Life of Faith is a Process of Steps to Your Desired Goal

A) Galatians 3:11 (The just shall live by faith.) - Living is movement, if it's alive there is movement in it.

B) II Corinthians 5:7 - For we walk by faith, not by sight.

To walk you must take steps.  There are steps to faith.

II)    Three Steps to Faith that will get Us to Our Victory

1)  Romans 10:17 - All faith must be established on God's Word.

     To walk by faith our first step must begin with God's Word.  There        can be no faith without God's Word.  Faith is a product of God's              Word.

a)  Proverbs 4:20-22 (v.22) - You must find God's Word that gives you the right to have what you need.

b)  Romans 4:18 - Abraham's walk of faith began with God's promise to bless him.

Our first step of faith is to find God's promise for the blessing we desire then claim it and embrace it as ours.

2)    Mark 11:22-23 - You must believe God's promise in your heart.

v. 23 - You must believe God's Word in your heart until it becomes so real it drives doubt out of you.

a)   Romans 4:17-22 - Abraham refused to be focused on the problem.  He kept his focus on God's promise.

To believe we must spend more time with God's promise than with the problem.

3)   Mark 11:23 - You have to say it.

v. 23 - You have what you say.  You must release the blessing in your life with your words.

a)    Romans 4:20 - Abraham kept his faith strong by constantly saying and praising God for the promise.

vv. 20-22 - He conformed his attitude, words, and actions to God's Word and not the problem.

Continual Spiritual Refreshings

Psalm 34:19 says, "Many evils confront the [consistently] righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all."  I am often amazed when I hear Christians complaining and bewildered because something goes wrong in their life.  It seems as though the false idea of that now that you're a believer, nothing wrong or bad is ever going to happen to you.  This thought or even teaching is contrary to God's Word.  David brings out this truth and lets us know that as we set ourselves to live righteous and holy before the Lord we will face many afflictions, evils, and troubles.

I Peter 4:12 says, "Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you."  Here again we are being warned of fiery trials that will come our way.  Notice that David said tests would come to the consistently righteous and here Peter says tests come to the beloved.  This tells me that a test doesn't mean I am missing it or I've fallen into sin.  It means that my adversary, the devil, is doing all he can to discourage me and to keep me from fulfilling God's Will in my life.

So what am I to do?  The answer is in God's Word.  Psalm 34:19 also says, "...but the Lord delivers him out of them all."  Thank God that for every test the devil throws at me, God has already prepared a way for me to overcome it.  I Corinthians 10:13 says, "No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it."  No matter what you're facing today, God has already set up an escape route for you and you can be victorious.

The key now is for you to keep your heart full of faith and spiritually strong.  To do this, the Lord has prepared continual spiritual refreshings for us so we won't grow weary and faint.  So today, I encourage you to take your eyes off the test and put them on God's provision.  Set yourself to receive a fresh anointing of God's Spirit.  To help you do this, I encourage you to study the outline and listen to the message, "Continual Spiritual Refreshings."

I       How to Stay Spiritually Refreshed in Troubling Times

A)    II Corinthians 4:16-18 - Every day we will face afflictions, but every day our inward man can be renewed.

Why it is important to renew our inward man.

1)    Proverbs 4:23 - Out of our heart, inward man, spring issues of life.

2)    Proverbs 20:27 - Spirit of man is the candle of the Lord.

3)    Matthew 12:35 - A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things.

vv. 17,18 - Two things to know and do to stay spiritually refreshed.

1)    v. 17 - The affliction, hard time, problem is temporary.

a)    Psalm 34:19 - Many are afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.

2)    v. 18 - Get your eyes off of problems and on to God's provision.

a)    Number 21:4-9 - Many times after a great victory we will face a great test.

vv. 4-6 - The trip took longer.  They got tired and discouraged and complained.

vv. 7-9 - They repented, changed their attitude, got their eyes back on God and redemption, and got delivered.

B)    Isaiah 40:28-31 - God renews us when we turn to Him.

C)    Psalms 92:8-15 - (v.10) God will give us fresh anointing and strength.

vv. 12-15 (AMP) - We are to flourish, grow in grace, and be fruitful.

1)    Acts 3:19 - (AMP) Times of refreshing, continual refreshings are available to us from the presence of the Lord.

Praying for Our Nation

Two hundred thirty-eight years ago on July 4, 1776, Congress, comprised of all 13 United States of America, set forth the Declaration of Independence.  In writing this great declaration, they wrote down these words that should be honored and cherished by all citizens of the United States: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness."

I believe this country was raised up by God to be an instrument for His works and glory.  We may not have always been a perfect country and along the way made a few mistakes.  But we have always been an honorable country.  We have stood for our principles of Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.  We have been a God-fearing country and have set a standard for all nations to see that a free people with faith in God can do great things.  All Americans should be proud to be an American and stand up with pride, dignity, and a humble appreciation as we celebrate our nation's 238th Birthday on this July 4, 2014.

As a Christian, I want to call out to all Believers to respond to the Call of God to pray for our nation.  There is a great spiritual battle being waged against the very soul of our nation.  The devil would like nothing better than to destroy America from within.  There are those, unfortunately, who have bought into his lies that a Godless America would be greater than a Godly America.  This must never be.  It is time for Believers to rise up and lift up a standard against this ungodly attack that would endeavor to change our nation. We do this by letting our voice be heard in public and letting our voice be heard in prayer.  When there is no voice for right and truth, only the voices of hate and lies are heard.  May we find the passion and boldness to let our voices be heard in speaking forth righteousness, peace, and joy to all.  And may our voices be heard in Heaven as we cry out to God to forgive our sins and heal our land.

II Chronicles 7:14 says, "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."  True, sincere prayer coming from a heart broken by all the ungodliness going on around it carries much influence in Heaven.  We, as Believers, can bring back the glory to our nation by turning to God in prayer and humility and asking Him to again be Lord over our land.

I Timothy 2:1-4 says, "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth."  I invite all Believers to join with me in prayer for our nation.  On this 4th of July, may we turn to God in prayer and commit ourselves to praying for our nation, our leaders, and our citizens to all have an encounter with God.  It is our time, to see our God, pour out His Spirit and send a great spiritual awakening to our nation.

I encourage you to pray this prayer I have included to release God's will in our nation.  As we come together in prayer, I believe the Lord will forgive our sins and heal our land. 

May God Bless America.

 

PRAYING FOR OUR NATION

Heavenly Father, we come again today.  We come in the Name of Jesus—not our name, not our power, not our holiness, not even our goodness—but we come in the Name of Jesus, washed in His blood, robed in His righteousness.  We come because You told us to come.  You said in Your Holy Word for us to come boldly to the throne of grace and that we may obtain help and grace to help in the time of need.  Thank You, Father.  We are exhorted in Your Word to pray, to intercede, to supplicate, and to give thanks for ALL who are in authority, that Christians—that believers—everywhere, may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

We pray for our leaders—our President, every member of Congress, the Supreme Court, the president's cabinet, everyone that's in authority—that divine wisdom, grace, and direction will be given unto them.

We come against the powers of darkness, the forces of evil that would try to dominate and rule in our own nation. We rise up against that darkness and those spirits and dispel the darkness. In the Name of Jesus, we command the devil to take his hand OFF the political scene of our nation. We pray for every politician, everyone that's in office, that they'll not be so concerned about politics, that they'll not be so party conscious, but that they'll be concerned about our nation as a whole—and above all, put God first.

We come against the powers of darkness, the forces of evil, the demons of hell that would endeavor to dominate the financial scene of our nation. We pray for the economy of our nation. We pray about the unemployed. We pray that the economy will be turned around, and everyone that wants a job will find a job, and that we will be prosperous as a whole—as a nation—to continue to carry the Gospel around the world. We command the devil and all of his cohorts: Take your hand OFF the financial scene of our nation.

We come against the powers of darkness, the forces of evil that would endeavor to dominate the domestic scene of our nation. We command you, Satan, and all of your cohorts to take your hand OFF the domestic scene of our nation. May there be peace. May there be tranquility. May there be understanding from the Atlantic to the Pacific, from the Gulf of Mexico to the Canadian border. We sweep the air clean from demons—powers of evil that would hinder, that would dominate. We come against all forces that are wrong. In the Name of Jesus!

Redeemed from Poverty

Galatians 3:13-14, says, "13) Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), 14) that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith."  Jesus redeemed us from the curse so the blessing and its benefits could come on us.  To receive these benefits we must have knowledge of what belongs to us.  All faith is built upon the knowledge of God's Word.  Romans 10:17 says, "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."  

III John 2 says, " Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."  To walk in health and prosperity, we must renew our minds to the Word of God.  Hosea 4:6 says, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.  Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children."  Most Christians are defeated today because of a lack of revelation knowledge concerning what Christ has redeemed them out of and what He has redeemed them into.

If we, as Believers, are to prosper in this hour we are living, we must become established in our redemptive blessings.  One of these blessings is prosperity.  It is vital that we gain the revelation that poverty is a curse and that Jesus has redeemed us from it.  Believers are not to live their lives governed by the curse of poverty.  We must renew our minds to the blessing of the Lord and walk in the revelation that it is God's Will to prosper us and bless us.

Study this week's message and apply these truths to your faith.  Get the revelation that God is your source and you are to live your life under His blessing and not the curse.  As Believers, we can prosper and live good, strong, and blessed lives, no matter what is going on around us because Jesus has redeemed us from the curse of the law.

  I       Jesus Redeemed Us from the Curse of Poverty

         A)   Hosea 4:6 - Most Christians aren't defeated today because they don't                 love God.

         B)   III John 2 - They are defeated because they don't know His Will.

                1)  v.6 - Don't reject God's Word, embrace it as yours and begin to do                         it.

                2)  v.2 - Renew your mind and attitude to agree with God's Word.

                     a)   John 8:31-32 - continue in My Word, know the truth - it will set                               you free.

                     v.2 - Prosper and be in health.

                     Prosper (Grk) - Prosperity and success.  To have a safe and                                        successful trip.

                     Health (Grk) - To have sound health.  To be well in body.

Prosperity and victorious living begin for Believers when we renew our thinking and receive knowledge of God's Will for our lives.

          C)  Galatians 3:13, 14, 29 - Jesus redeemed us from the curse so the                                blessing and its benefits could come on us.  We receive benefits                              by faith.  Faith is built on the knowledge of God's Word. 

                 v.13 - Poverty is part of the curse.

                      1)   Deuteronomy 28:15-19, 23, 38-40, 43-44 - Poverty and lack are                               a curse.

                      2)   Proverbs 10:15 - destruction of the poor is their poverty.                                             Anything that destroys is of the devil.

                 v.13 - Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law.

                      1)   II Corinthians 8:9 - Jesus became poor that we might be rich.

                            a)  Philippians 2:6-7 - Jesus emptied Himself and became a                                            servant.

                            b)  Matthew 8:20 - Jesus never gathered prosperity to Himself.                                    He never had a home so that we could have one.

                 v.13 - On the cross Jesus took our every need and bore our curse of                       poverty.

                       v.14 - so we could be blessed

                       1)  Philippians 4:19 - Now God is your source of supply to make                                  you prosperous in this life.

Take Ownership

Jeremiah 29:11 says, " For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."  God has good plans for us.  His plans are good, blessed, and bring us into the future He has prepared for us.  The key is for us to discover God's plans, embrace them, and then take possession of them in our lives.

Webster's dictionary says ownership is to possess, to admit, acknowledge, confess to that which belongs to oneself.  So for us to have what God says we can have, there must be effort and cooperation with God on our part.  Hebrews 4:1-2 says, "1Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it.For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it."  So to receive what God says is ours, we must mix faith with it.

Study this week's outline and learn these simple steps in taking ownership of what God has for you.  God has a blessed future for you, so step out in faith and take possession of the life Jesus has provided for you in His death, burial, and resurrection.

Take Ownership

I      We Must take Possession of that which God has Given to Us

A)    Habakkuk 2:2-4 - (vision - Hebrew - Revelation) - Vision is a revelation of God's Will for our lives.

vv.2-4 - Three Key Truths to Vision

1)    v.2 - What God reveals to us, is for us.

a)   God gives us revelation and vision as His plan for our lives.

2)    v.3 - The revelation and message has the power of God's life in it to come to pass.

a)    I Kings 8:56 -...there hath not failed one word of all His good promise, which He promised by the hand of Moses His servant.

b)    Isaiah 55:10-11 - God sends us His Word to bring forth His Will in our lives.

v.10 - Rain is for the earth's sake, to enable it to do its work.

v.11 - The Word is for our sake, to enable us to do our work.

3)    v.4 - We are to embrace God's Will and use our faith to bring it forth.

a)   We are to embrace, take possession and ownership of God's revelation for us.  (Ownership - Hebrew - to possess, to admit, acknowledge, confess to that which belongs to oneself.)

God's Will is for us to receive and take ownership of all He has given to us.

B)    Hebrews 4:1-2 - If we don't take ownership, it won't work in our lives.

v.2 - mixed with (Greek) - To combine or assimilate, temper together. 

We must become one with the Word of God.  The Word must go from being a promise to being a revelation and description of who we are in Christ.

1)   Philippians 2:12-13 -We are to make full proof of our salvation.  Take possession of your walk with God.  Don't trust your faith life to others.

v.13 - You take possession and God will work with us to become what He called us to be.

Salvation, faith, family, healing, church, etc.  Embrace what God says and use your faith to possess it and take ownership.

a)   Mark 5:25-34 - Woman used her faith and took possession of her healing.

b)   Nehemiah 2:18; 4:6 - People took ownership of God's revelation for the city, put their hands to it and got it done.
